I am a writer, editor and creative manager with more than 25 years’ experience working with words.
Based in San Francisco, I write and edit for leading brands including Williams-Sonoma and Yahoo. My clients are large corporations, small design studios and everything in between. My work spans the realms of publishing, web, retail and marketing communications.
Fine print. I started out in magazine and book publishing. I’ve held editorial positions with publications including Architectural Digest, SF magazine and Museum News. As a book editor, I managed more than 50 titles from concept to printed pages. That experience makes me a copywriter who also happens to be an expert editor and diligent researcher. It’s also given me a keen eye for design and a desire to work with teams producing top-quality work.
Web savvy. I’ve been writing for the Web since way back in 1995. In those early days, I worked with interactive agencies here in San Francisco on the first generation of corporate and e-commerce websites. Seeing the Internet evolve along the way, I’ve gained valuable perspective on how copy resonates online vs. in print. I know what works (and what doesn’t) in each medium.
Education. I hold a BA in Public Policy from Duke University. Continuing studies have included the Stanford University Professional Publishing Course and the Multimedia Studies program at San Francisco State University. |
